Extending Reason: Peirce and Cassirer

The conference will address the problem of extending reason through Peirce’s and Cassirer’s thoughts, and mathematical category-theoretic perspective. The talk will be structured into three main parts. While the first part will discuss the core problem of “extending reason”, the second section will address some counterpoints between Peirce and Cassirer. The final part of the talk will examine mathematical category-theoretic perspectives and will discuss some Peircean and Cassirerean extensions through the Category-Theory Looking Glass.
Prof. Zalamea is Senior Visiting Fellow of our Department.
